Live Dealer Blackjack Sites

As of August 2026, eight states have legalized real-money online casino gaming, and seven of them have live dealer blackjack running.

These are state-licensed operators. Every one of them holds player funds in segregated accounts, verifies age and identity, enforces state self-exclusion lists and can be complained to through a government regulator. Availability varies by state, and every lobby changes over time, so confirm the current table list in the app.

Evolution and Playtech, the two suppliers that dominate legal U.S. markets, do not serve U.S.-facing offshore casinos. Offshore live blackjack comes from a different and much smaller set of suppliers.

Visionary iGaming, usually shortened to ViG, is the dominant live dealer supplier in the U.S.-facing offshore market. It was founded in 2008 by the former chief executive of a rival live gaming company, and its main studio is in San Jose, Costa Rica. The studio has a deliberately informal atmosphere, with music playing and dealers who acknowledge tips audibly.

ViG’s technical presentation is dated compared with Evolution. Video is delivered in a smaller inset window and the interface design has not moved much in years. What it has instead is the patented Blackjack Early Payout format and a long, unbroken operating history with the largest U.S.-facing brands. ViG powers the Bodog family, meaning Bovada, Ignition, Cafe Casino and Slots.lv, plus a long list of independents.

Fresh Deck Studios, founded in 2015, is the other major offshore supplier and the one behind the widest table variety in the category. Its studios are located in Costa Rica and Latvia. Fresh Deck powers the BetOnline family, meaning BetOnline, Wild Casino and Super Slots, along with several independent brands.

The Fresh Deck blackjack range is broader than ViG’s, covering American Blackjack, Early Payout, European Blackjack, Pontoon and Spanish 21, alongside American and European roulette, baccarat, Super 6 baccarat, three card poker and casino hold’em. The interface is more modern and there are more side bet options. Streaming quality is broadly comparable to ViG.

Smaller suppliers appear at individual brands. BetGames TV supplies live game show formats rather than traditional tables. Arrow’s Edge supplies live content to some independents. A handful of operators, MyBookie among them, run their own branded table suites alongside third-party content. Several U.S.-facing casinos advertise a live lobby that is actually a resold feed from one of the two major suppliers under a different name.

The variant list differs sharply between legal and offshore sites. In regulated states you are playing Evolution and Playtech games. Offshore you are playing Visionary iGaming and Fresh Deck Studios games.

Classic Seven-Seat Blackjack

The standard format. Seven physical seats, eight decks, individual hands, side bets usually limited to 21+3 and Perfect Pairs, and bet behind available so players without a seat can back someone else’s hand. Cash out is offered on some Evolution classic and speed tables. This is the closest thing to a real casino table and generally carries the strongest base return.

Infinite Blackjack

Evolution’s unlimited-seat game and the most played live blackjack title in regulated markets. Every player is dealt the same common two-card starting hand and then plays it independently. It offers low bet limits, four optional side bets in Any Pair, 21+3, Hot 3 and Bust It, and the Six Card Charlie rule, meaning six cards without busting is an automatic win. Base return is published at 99.47 percent.

Free Bet Blackjack

You get a free double down on two-card hard totals of 9, 10 and 11, and free splits on all pairs except 10-value cards. The casino covers those additional wagers. In exchange, a dealer 22 pushes against all non-busted player hands rather than losing. Optional side bets are Perfect Pair and 21+3, and bet behind is available. There is a seven-seat version and an Infinite version with unlimited seats. Return on the first hand out of the shoe is around 98.45 percent, meaningfully lower than a standard table.

Power Blackjack

You can double, triple or quadruple down on any two initial cards, including after a split. To balance that, all 9s and 10s are removed from the eight decks, taking 64 cards out of the shoe while leaving the picture cards in. There are four optional side bets in Any Pair, 21+3, Hot 3 and Bust It, and there is no Six Card Charlie rule.

Lightning Blackjack

Standard blackjack with a multiplier layer. You pay a Lightning fee equal to 100 percent of your initial bet every round. In return, a winning hand earns a multiplier between 2x and 25x that applies to the next round, and a win is always followed by a guaranteed multiplier. Eight decks, manual shoe, hit and stand and split and double available, no side bets. The fee structure means it needs consecutive wins to pay out properly.

Speed Blackjack

Mechanically identical to standard blackjack except for card order. After the initial two cards, the player who acts fastest receives the next card first. This cuts roughly 30 percent off round time, which means roughly 30 percent more hands per hour and correspondingly more exposure to the house edge. Cash out is available.

Salon Prive and Private Tables

High-limit one-to-one formats where a single player controls the table, can request a shuffle and plays without other participants. Access is limit-gated. Caesars runs a VIP-exclusive blackjack table in each of its three branded studios offering exactly this format.

Playtech Variants

Available primarily at BetRivers and BetMGM depending on state. Unlimited Blackjack is Playtech’s one-to-many game and carries one of the best published returns in the category at around 99.54 percent, though it uses a 10-card Charlie rule and the dealer does not check for blackjack. All Bets Blackjack carries strong rules but no Six Card Charlie. Quantum Blackjack adds multipliers and uses six decks rather than eight. Stadium Blackjack is a multi-table format unique to Playtech operators.

Blackjack Early Payout

The signature offshore game, patented by Visionary iGaming and created in 2005 as the world’s first common draw one-to-many live blackjack game. It works differently from anything in the regulated market. The software plays your hand according to perfect basic strategy automatically, and the decision you control is whether to opt out mid-hand in exchange for an early payout calculated from the current probability of your hand against the dealer’s up card. That payout can be more or less than your original bet. You can play up to three hands at once and get through far more rounds per hour than a seven-seat table allows. Published return is 99.5 percent, which is the highest of any live blackjack game online, but that figure assumes you decline the early payout offers, since the cash-out value is priced below true expectation.

One quirk to understand: because the game enforces basic strategy, your options are asymmetric. You can stand when strategy says hit, but you cannot hit when strategy says stand.

Standard ViG Blackjack

Visionary iGaming’s regular seven-seat tables use six decks rather than the eight standard elsewhere. Blackjack pays 3:2, the dealer hits soft 17, the dealer peeks, late surrender is available, you can double on any two cards and double after split, and multiple hands are allowed. House edge on this rule set is about 0.58 percent. The soft 17 rule is the significant negative and it is the main reason the base ViG table is worse for the player than a legal Evolution table.

Fresh Deck Variants

Fresh Deck carries the widest blackjack menu offshore: American Blackjack, Early Payout, European Blackjack, Pontoon and Spanish 21. Spanish 21 and Pontoon are genuinely different games with their own strategy charts, not reskins, and neither is available at legal U.S. live tables. Side bet options are broader than ViG’s.

Operator-Branded Tables

A few offshore operators run their own branded suites, such as MyBookie’s Vegas Suite blackjack tables, alongside third-party feeds. Rules on branded tables are set by the operator, so read the rules panel rather than assuming they match the supplier standard.

Side bets are the largest single leak in live blackjack. Every dollar you move from the main bet to a side bet multiplies your expected cost by roughly five to ten times.

Return to player is the theoretical percentage of total wagers returned over a very large number of rounds, assuming perfect basic strategy play. House edge is the inverse.

Published return figures for the feature-heavy Evolution variants, particularly Power Blackjack and Lightning Blackjack, vary between sources. Some analysts report them above 99.5 percent, while others classify them as the weakest returns in the Evolution range because of the Lightning fee and the removed 9s and 10s. Treat any single published number as a starting point and read the paytable inside the specific table you are sitting at, since operators can configure some parameters.

Every added feature is paid for. Free Bet Blackjack gives you free doubles and splits and takes payment through the dealer 22 push. Power Blackjack gives you quadruple downs and takes payment by removing 64 favorable cards from the shoe. Lightning Blackjack gives you multipliers and takes payment through a 100 percent fee every round. None of these are traps; they are simply priced.

Published return applies only to the main bet. If you routinely add a $5 side bet to a $25 main bet, your blended return across all money wagered falls by roughly a full percentage point. Over a 200-hand session that is the difference between a small expected loss and a substantial one.

Live blackjack has the best returns in the live casino. European roulette sits around 97.3 percent, American roulette around 94.74 percent, baccarat banker bets around 98.94 percent before commission, and live game shows generally range from about 95 percent to 97 percent. If return per dollar is what you optimize for, blackjack is the correct game in the live lobby.

Card counting is not illegal anywhere in the United States. It is a mental skill, not a device and not cheating, and no law prohibits tracking cards in your head. Casinos are private businesses and can refuse service to a player they believe is counting, which is why counters get barred from land-based floors without having broken any law.

It does not work against RNG blackjack at all, because the virtual shoe is reshuffled every hand and no information carries forward. Against live dealer blackjack it is theoretically possible but practically not worthwhile, primarily because of shallow deck penetration: tables shuffle well before the shoe is depleted, so the count rarely reaches a magnitude that produces a meaningful edge.

Several other design features compound the problem. Common draw formats deal a single shared hand rather than individual hands, which reduces the information available per round. Table maximums are low relative to the bet spread a counter would need. Automatic shufflers on some tables eliminate the count entirely. And stream latency means you are reacting to information the system already has.

Operator terms in both legal and offshore markets generally reserve the right to restrict, limit or close accounts for advantage play, bonus abuse or patterns the operator considers irregular. At a legal site you can escalate a dispute to a state regulator. Offshore, the operator’s decision is effectively final.

State-licensed operators support conventional banking because they are regulated financial counterparties: debit cards, online bank transfer, PayPal, Play+ prepaid cards, cash at the casino cage and, in some states, Apple Pay and Venmo.
